A driver who installed bollards in the underground parking lot of an apartment and even installed CCTV to prevent others from touching the vehicle that had already occupied two parking spaces.
More concerned about their own car than manners, with reckless parking behavior.
In an online community called Bobaedream, a post containing absurd content has become a hot topic. The post, titled ‘Personalization of Apartment Parking Lots, What Do You Think?’ posted on the 26th has attracted explosive attention from community users.
The author revealed that a vehicle in their apartment complex consistently displayed rude parking behavior. The photos posted in the post showed a gray EV6 vehicle occupying two parking spaces in an unorthodox manner.
Finally, the author took photos and reported the issue to the management office. Although a warning notice was soon posted on the controversial EV6 vehicle, there was no sign of stopping the behavior of occupying two parking spaces. Instead, the vehicle had turned the steering wheel, making it difficult for other vehicles to park in the adjacent space.
If it had stopped there, there would have been nothing outstanding compared to other reckless parking villains. The vehicle owner went one step further, moving the vehicle to a space where only one vehicle could be parked due to pillars and walls. Of course, simply moving the vehicle did not make it stand out.
The vehicle owner installed bollards in the parking area, visible from the road, to protect their car. This behavior clearly showed their love for their own car, even in a shared residential area.
Moreover, when notified to move the vehicle for a full underground parking lot cleaning, the vehicle owner instead blocked the area with caution tape and paper stating that it was a no cleaning zone. Furthermore, they even installed CCTV to prevent others from accessing the area.
The vehicle owner went as far as putting a sticker from the Marine Special Search Federation, showing their affection for protecting their car to their neighbors. They also strategically blocked the parking space with another vehicle that appeared to be from the same household, effectively defending the space from being taken.
Reckless parking on private property, is there really no solution? The law does not have any provisions for enforcing illegal parking on private property, but action can be taken if it causes situations related to fire, emergency medical needs, or crime.
Sadly, there is no solution that law enforcement can provide for the inconvenience and anger caused by reckless and inconsiderate parking. Although the 3 laws to resolve illegal parking in shared housing were proposed in 2022, there have been no updates, and in 2023, the National Human Rights Commission only ‘recommended’ solutions to parking conflicts in shared housing areas.
Ultimately, it seems that the best solution is for residents to include provisions for dealing with illegal parking within the rules of shared housing and obtain consent. Of course, if there is normal social behavior and thinking, such efforts may not be necessary before resorting to forceful measures.
