Starting from the 21st, Kakao Games will be showcasing 3 new global titles from its development subsidiary Ocean Drive Studio at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany. These games, presented by Ocean Drive Studio at Gamescom 2024, leverage the accumulated expertise of the development team in creating PC/console games to deliver a unique gaming experience. The company has set up a public demo booth at Exhibition Hall 10 for general attendees and plans to operate a B2B booth at Exhibition Hall 2 for various industry stakeholders.
Ocean Drive Studio’s upcoming title, “Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch,” is a turn-based TRPG/SRPG with roguelite elements, aiming to enhance the positive feedback received from the previous installment while providing a more immersive story. The game features elements like permadeath for characters, random events affecting combat outcomes, party customization through skill upgrades, and a unique narrative based on the “Lost Eidolons” universe.
Another title from Ocean Drive Studio, “Section 13,” reinterprets the tactical co-op shooter game “Blackout Protocol” as an action roguelite shooter. Players take on the role of S2P agents armed with various weapons and abilities, infiltrating the mysterious research facility of “Section 13” to defeat enemies, uncover dark secrets, and escape from the facility.
Lastly, “God Save Birmingham” is an open-world zombie survival simulator set in medieval England’s Birmingham, set to be showcased for the first time at Gamescom 2024. With Unreal Engine 5 powering realistic combat and a variety of survival gameplay elements, players will explore the city, scavenge for resources, and uncover hidden treasures and safe havens. The game is currently in early access on PC via Steam.
Kakao Games Europe recently signed global publishing contracts for “Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch” and “Section 13” from Ocean Drive Studio, leveraging their experience in successfully servicing games in the global market to provide localization and marketing support.
