Jeep is gearing up to expand its SUV lineup and conquer the global market. Following the unveiling of the midsize electric SUV Jeep Wagoneer S in May this year, Jeep is now developing a full-change model of the midsize electric SUV Compass. The new Compass will be based on the STLA Medium platform developed by Stellantis Group and will be available in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric versions. Although the detailed appearance has not been revealed yet, a rendered image of the new Compass was recently released.
The new Compass design draws inspiration from the previously revealed Wagoneer S, reflecting Jeep’s latest design language. The front grille, headlights, and daytime running lights closely resemble those of the Wagoneer S. The grille features a horizontal layout with vertical slots, while the daytime running lights extend along the hood line.
The headlamps, integrated with the grille, are arranged in a horizontal box shape. The hood maintains a flat height with an elongated length, emphasizing a square body form with a slight vertical front. The bumper design has undergone significant changes, with the horizontal air intake previously located in the front fascia now removed.
The bumper’s air intake has been updated from a hexagonal pattern to a cross pattern, surrounded by black trim. On the sides, a new trapezoidal air intake shape has been added, enhancing a sporty feel. A chrome garnish line follows the shape of the air intake.
The window beltline has been revised to feature a more linear design, departing from the previous diagonal line. At the rear, a horizontal taillamp design is applied. The sharp ends of the taillamps extend to the rear quarter panel, creating an aggressive design. Compared to the previous Compass model, the taillamp width has been slimmed down, with chrome garnish applied to the top for a luxurious feel. The rear reflectors that were previously positioned on the bumper have been moved to the sides, adding volume and a three-dimensional look.
Jeep plans to unveil the new Compass by the end of this year, aiming for a release in Europe in 2025.
