Peugeot’s new model 308 mild hybrid is expected to be launched in the domestic market by the end of the year after completing certification procedures.
According to the Korea Energy Agency, the new 308 mild hybrid achieved a combined fuel efficiency of 15.2 km/l based on 18-inch wheels.
This new 308 will replace the existing diesel model and upgrade to a hybrid powertrain. The diesel engine-equipped previous model was introduced in Korea in 2022 but is currently discontinued.
The new 308 mild hybrid adopts a powertrain combining a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder gasoline turbo engine and a 48V mild hybrid system.
With a curb weight of 1,455kg, the new 308 achieves fuel efficiency of 14.1 km/l in the city, 16.7 km/l on the highway, and 15.2 km/l combined, while the electric motor provides an additional 21 horsepower for enhanced efficiency and driving performance.
The detailed specifications of the new 308 mild hybrid set to be launched in Korea have not been disclosed yet, but it is highly likely to be operated in Allure and GT trims based on the existing diesel model.
Furthermore, despite applying a hybrid system, the new 308 maintains its excellent interior space utilization and elegant interior and exterior design.
Key convenience features include adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, lane departure warning system, a 10-inch digital display, and a spacious trunk with a capacity of up to 1,323 liters.
On the other hand, the new 308 mild hybrid is preparing for a year-end launch target. Although the price has not been revealed yet, Stellantis Korea is expected to set a reasonable price range considering market competitiveness.
A Stellantis Korea official stated, “The Peugeot 308 mild hybrid is a model that combines excellent fuel efficiency and environmental performance, making it an attractive choice for domestic customers,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to enhance the growth and customer satisfaction of the Peugeot brand.”
